At Fred and Murry's Kosher Delicatessen, we don’t just serve food; we create memorable experiences rooted in rich tradition and exceptional flavor. Established in 1960 on Ralph Avenue in Brooklyn, New York, our journey began with a commitment to quality and a passion for bringing people together over delicious meals.
In 1981, brothers Fred and Murry Chalnick, along with brother-in-law Morty Lupowitz, crossed the Verrazano Bridge to Central New Jersey, where they expanded our culinary legacy. For 35 years, we have honored our roots, serving a diverse community with the same passion and dedication that defined our beginnings.
When the founders retired in 1997, their two nephews, Shawn and Dan Richelson took the helm, ensuring that the essence of Fred and Murry's continues to thrive. From our hand-cut corned beef to our famous matzo ball soup, each dish is prepared with love and care, inviting you to relax, explore new flavors, and enjoy beloved classics.

Just left Fred & Murry’s Kosher Deli! AWESOME experience! Best onion rings I ever had and ate! The Sloppy Joe sandwich was great! Waitress was very attentive and joyful! The guys behind the counter were very friendly and respectful!! Unfortunately, I live in Texas and only visit once a year to NJ. Any way possible to get that amazing onion ring recipe?? Those were amazing!!

Really really good and one of the last authentic kosher delis around. A shame that this type of establishment is declining in popularity. The food is great - do the brisket, please - service is excellent, and portions are generous. The owner is friendly and approachable. Seating is family style and the atmosphere is warm. Food is certified kosher under a conservative Rabbi and prices reflect the extra schmaltz, but are competitive within that frame. Highly recommended.

Stopped in the last couple of weeks for pick up. Everyone behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. The Pastrami and Corned Beef on rye was delicious. Homemade Split Pea soup and coleslaw, Side of Potato Pancake and Russian dressing made for a very delicious dinner. Very reasonable prices and portions were very generous. Highly recommend stopping in. I look forward to coming back!

We ordered the Thanksgiving dinner and everyone agreed that all the food was delicious and plentiful. We had chicken noodle soup, grilled vegetables, stuffing, sweet potato soufflé, candied yams, sliced turkey, cranberry apple compote and pickles with pickled tomatoes. The meal was well worth the price and we’ll do it again next year. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
